The Titanic is the ship that everyone knows. But after more than a hundred years the most famous of all sunken ships was revisited by divers. This is how it looks like now…
The people who built this ship have thought that it will be unsinkable. They didn’t even put enough lifeboats on it because they didn’t see why an unsinkable ship should have lifeboats in the first place. It was believed that the Titanic only carried boats to help evacuate the passengers of other sunken ships.
The Titanic was an Olympic-class ship, meaning that it had two other sisters as well. They were called Britannic and Olympic. The Britannic was sunken by a mine that was planted by a German submarine in WW2, and the Olympic was taken apart and sold as scrap metal. Two of the three Olympic-class ships share the fate if now being sunken ships deep under the sea. The RMS Titanic was first set on water on the 31st of May, 1912. It nearly had an accident with the SS New York ship, the two ships nearly collided together.
