The whale is called “Migaloo,” an Aboriginal name for “White Fella.” He was spotted during his annual migration period from the coasts of Australia to Antarctica. “Migaloo was first seen in Australia waters in 1991 as a juvenile and is part of the east Australian humpback population which numbers up to 17,000,” reported the White Whale research Centre.
